Providers

The people who'll know your family.

Continuity matters in pediatrics. Our pediatricians work as one team — so whoever you see knows your child, and your child gets to know them too.

Pediatrician

Dr. Julie EllnerMD, FAAP

Accepting new patients

Dr. Ellner came straight to Mercer Island Pediatrics after Seattle Children's Hospital Pediatric Residency and has been here ever since — grateful, she says, to have landed somewhere that lets her explore everything pediatrics has to offer. Early on she had a special interest in dermatology, then in adolescent mental health. Several years ago she began offering IUDs and subdermal implants to teens who need contraception, and is now happy to bring all of those interests together in one practice.

Dr. Evans joined Mercer Island Pediatrics in 2016. She chose pediatrics because she loves working with children and families, and the long-term relationships she gets to build — relationships that influence healthy life choices for decades. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, she especially loves working with newborns, but cares for kids and teens of all ages. What she enjoys most is the trust that comes with time, and how much fun it is to watch children grow up.

Pediatrician

Dr. Luz GonzalezMD, FAAP

Accepting new patients

Dr. Gonzalez joined Mercer Island Pediatrics in 2009. "It has been the most wonderful journey growing in my profession alongside watching my patients grow." She chose pediatrics in particular to help instill preventive habits early in life — and, she'll happily admit, because she loves baby feet. She enjoys all areas of pediatric medicine, from newborn care through the school years and into young adulthood, and especially loves the wonder of toddlerhood and early childhood development. She learns every day, just as much from her patients as they learn from her.
